Announcement #2026-172Issue Date:08-18-26Closing Date:08-31-26 Surveillance Agent IIGaming CommissionHourly Wage: $19.14/Regular/Full-Time The Surveillance Agent II oversees Surveillance Agents on shift and monitors all activities occurring within the surveillance observation room. Responsibilities include the oversight of incident observations, the ability to communicate the results of surveillance reviews in assistance to casino operations; operation of the CCTV surveillance system and digital recording system to monitor the gaming facility to protect the assets and reputation of the Yakama Nation and ensure the safety of patrons and employees of the gaming operation. Further, responsibilities include assuring the Gaming operation is in compliance with Commission regulations, internal controls, tribal-state compact, minimum internal controls, and any other applicable regulation. Review and prepare written reports when deviations occur from the above. The continuous development of Operator skills is essential. Examples of Work Performed:Exercise Surveillance leadership role with professionalism in a reserved manner that properly reflects the integrity and objectivity of the Yakama Nation Gaming Commission; providing an appropriate example to those they lead.Assign reviews to the appropriate personnel and ensure completion.Reports to the Surveillance Manager any incidents of theft occurring.Responsible for controlling the flow of sensitive information in and out of the Surveillance room with Casino Operations while on duty.Continuous development of all Surveillance Agents in aspects of Surveillance skills, gaming, game protection and loss prevention.Train new Agents in all aspects of Surveillance skills, game protection, cheat detection, game procedures ensuring the completion of the Surveillance Operator training manual.Archive Daily Logs at the end of each month.Prepare a monthly Pace Audit Log with the average Time and Motion calculation of Hands per Hour of each table games dealer for Casino Operations.Prepare an updated blank Pace Audit book for Agents to complete monthly.Complete daily audits/dealer evaluations/checklists daily.Complete checklists and/or risk assessments on a weekly/monthly basis.Review and report the results of all variances over a determined amount occurring within Gaming Facility.Ensure the evidence locker is maintained in an organized manner following the proper evidence procedures.Conduct immediate reviews and prepare written reports of any incidents occurring within the Gaming Facility.Promote open communications with Operations management in a professional manner at all times providing a high level of customer service.Recommend and initiate additional camera positioning and camera adjustments to the Surveillance Manager.Promote the Yakama Nation Gaming Commission four core values and group norms through modeling and reinforcement.Recommend improvements to department procedures for operational efficiency.Maintain a high level of accountability for actions of self and team members.Explore methods of improvement for self and team members.Attend trainings to enhance leadership abilities, game protection skills, and implement learned methods/techniques.Operate the CCTV Surveillance system and monitor the gaming facility to ensure the physical safety of the assets, patrons and employees of the gaming operation and to prevent illegal activity within the gaming operation.Detect and recognize Theft, Cheats and Scams, through the utilization of the CCTV system.Assist other divisions of the agency in any investigation through actively monitoring incidents and conducting reviews. Facilitate the management of the gaming operation by conducting immediate reviews of any incidentsthat occur in the facility and areas being recorded by the CCTV system.Prepare and review written reports regarding any deviation from the regulations, internal control, or rules and procedures committed by the gaming operation.Review the daily activity log, pace audits, the monitor log and pass on log to ensure documentation is thorough and accurate.Ensure the agents' written reports are completed prior to the end of their respective shift.Ensure that the agents have saved incident footage and if necessary, burned the footage onto an external drives as approved by the Surveillance Manager.Responsible for keeping agents on task for operational efficiency.Assist with maintaining the shared drives as directed.Follow the chain of command.This is a non-exempt position that requires non-traditional work hours (shift work w/rotations as deemed necessary by the Surveillance Manager).Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of tribal, state and federal laws and regulations, specifically in relation to the gaming industry.Knowledge of all gaming activities-Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Spanish 21, Three-card poker, Pai-gow, Let it ride, 7 card stud poker, Omaha poker, Texas Hold'em poker, Keno, Pull tabs, Video lottery systems, and Bingo.Familiarity with computers and electronic data processing.Knowledge of Cash Handling Procedures.Interpersonal relation skills.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.Ability to be self-motivated and motivate team members.Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.Ability to monitor all gaming activities-Table Games, Poker, Keno, Pull tabs, Video lottery systems, Cage Department, Food & Beverage Departments, Hotel, Back of House, Parking lots, Event Center, and Bingo.Ability to train and work with all Surveillance staff.Ability to review and decipher complex information.Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and Holidays as needed.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED required. Any equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for required qualifications demonstrating the ability to perform the job duties.Three years of casino surveillance required.Governmental, gaming or regulatory experience required.Required to sign a Confidentiality, Code of Conduct, and Oath of Office Agreement.No prosecutions nor have been previously charged for crimes of illegal substance, theft or other crimes associated with them.Required to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests.Required to pass a pre-employment background check.Required to pass an annual criminal background investigation.Surveillance personnel may not, upon termination of employment with the Yakama Nation Gaming Commission, work in any capacity within the gaming operation for a period of one year. The Commission may grant special exceptions at their discretion.Surveillance personnel may not, upon termination of employment with the Yakama Nation Gaming Commission, participate in any gaming activities which they surveyed for a period of one year. The Commission may grant special exceptions at their discretion.Preferred Requirements:Three years of Surveillance Supervisory experience.Enrolled Yakama preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
