Position Overview
- Title: Hourly Shift Supervisor / Department Manager
- Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
- Reports To: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Owner
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership: Act as Manager-on-Duty, run pre-shift meetings, direct station flow, and manage peak-hour pacing.
- Staff Coaching: Train new hires, mentor team members in real time, and enforce company policies.
- Guest Relations: Greet customers, monitor satisfaction, and handle service recovery or complaints with empathy.
- Quality & Safety: Monitor food temperatures, cleanliness, and compliance with health and sanitation codes.
- Operations Support: Oversee opening and closing checklists, manage cash drawers and safe drops, and track basic inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1+ years of restaurant or hospitality experience; previous lead or training experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, basic math and cash handling, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Certifications: Valid food handler or ServSafe manager certification (where required).
- Physical: Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours and lift up to 25–30 lbs
