POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to perform field inspections and quality control activities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial, industrial, institutional, and/or data center construction projects.The MEP Inspector is responsible for verifying that installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and the project QA/QC program. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to identify deficiencies before they impact project schedule, cost, or commissioning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform field inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations.Review construction activities for compliance with approved plans, specifications, submittals, and applicable codes.Inspect MEP rough-in, equipment installation, supports, hangers, sleeves, penetrations, piping, ductwork, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and associated components.Verify equipment and systems are properly installed prior to concealment.Perform inspections and witness testing in accordance with project Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).Document inspection results, deficiencies, nonconforming work, and corrective actions.Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.Review contractor work packages, inspection requests, checklists, and testing documentation.Coordinate inspections with contractors, subcontractors, commissioning personnel, engineers, and project management.Verify field-installed materials and equipment match approved submittals.Identify potential quality issues and communicate them to project management.Track deficiencies through resolution and verify corrective actions.Participate in pre-functional inspections, equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.Assist with turnover documentation, punch lists, and closeout activities.Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.Promote a proactive safety and quality culture.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of MEP construction, inspection, commissioning, or QA/QC experience.Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, manufacturing, or data center construction.Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction practices.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, one-lines, P&IDs, and approved submittals.Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.Experience preparing inspection reports and deficiency documentation.Strong communication and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.Ability to travel to project sites as required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork indoors and outdoors in active construction environments.Climb ladders and stairs and access elevated work areas.Walk construction sites for extended periods.Access confined or difficult-to-reach areas when required.Wear required PPE and comply with project safety requirements. IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate is a field-oriented MEP professional who understands how systems are actually installed, not simply how they appear on drawings.The candidate should be able to:Identify installation issues early.Communicate deficiencies professionally.Maintain accurate inspection records.Work effectively with contractors and project teams.Maintain the independence expected of a third-party QA/QC inspector.Strong candidates with extensive field experience but fewer formal certifications are encouraged to apply. COMPENSATIONCompensation will be based on experience, certifications, project requirements, travel requirements, and level of responsibility.Competitive compensation packages are available for experienced MEP Inspectors, particularly candidates with industrial, data center, commissioning, or mission-critical experience.
