About This Role

The role of Assistant Teacher involves supporting a dynamic team to foster a stimulating and inclusive environment for children to grow and develop. Responsibilities include developing and implementing engaging activities, providing individualized support, and promoting language, literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social-emotional development.



What You'll Do

Instructional Support • Implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities tailored to meet the educational goals of each child.• Supporting individualized learning approaches that cater to each child's unique needs and developmental stage.• Promoting social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through daily play-based learningChild Supervision & Safety• Maintaining active supervision of children at all times, indoors and outdoors.• Creating a safe, clean, and respectful environment that supports the well-being and exploration of each child.• Adhering to all health, safety, and emergency protocols.Communication & Collaboration • Collaborating with Lead Teachers and team members to ensure consistent routines and learning experiences for all children.• Communicating effectively with families in a respectful and compassionate manner.• Participating in team meetings, training, and CEC's events as required.

• Establishing a welcoming and inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equitable learning opportunities for children of all abilities.

• Modeling patience, empathy, and positive behavioral support strategies to promote a positive learning environment.• Fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.• Fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.



Requirements

  • Passion for early childhood education and inclusive environments.
  • Willingness to complete required childcare training and certifications.
  • Experience working with children (formal or informal)
  • High school diploma or GED


Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • CDA credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience with children with disabilities or diverse learning needs.
