Position Title: Deputy Court Clerk Intern - PT

Reports To: Court Clerk

Department: Municipal Courts

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay: $16.00 Per Hour

Duration: 6-Month Internship with Possibility of Extension

Summary of Position:

The City of Doraville is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Deputy Court Clerk Intern to support the daily operations of the Municipal Court. This role provides hands-on experience in courtroom administration, record management, customer service, and legal documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and eager to learn about municipal court processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing court records, files, and documentation.
  • Provide customer service to the public, including answering questions and guiding visitors through court procedures.
  • Process payments for fines, fees, and other court-related transactions.
  • Prepare and distribute court calendars, notices, and other correspondence.
  • Support court staff during hearings, including data entry and file retrieval.
  • Enter case information and updates into the court’s case management system.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all court-related information.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and answering phones.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by court staff or supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or enrollment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Word, Excel, email systems).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Interest in public administration, legal studies, or criminal justice is a plus.
