Job Description

General Manager | Food Hall & Hospitality Destination | Boston, MA

A premier real estate and hospitality group seeks a dynamic, visionary, and deeply experienced General Manager to lead a multi-unit culinary destination in Boston.

This is an exciting build-and-shape opportunity for an accomplished hospitality executive with experience overseeing multiple restaurants/outlets in the $10-20M range. The GM partners closely with the management company and restaurant owners. You will bring your experience, vision, hands-on-approach and high-level training systems to optimize venue operations, elevate guest experience, and drive commercial performance.

This role requires a unique balance of strategic leadership and relentless, hands-on execution. We are looking for someone who thrives on rolling up their sleeves, working collaboratively across all teams, and bringing a creative, detail-oriented approach to a high-volume, multi-faceted culinary destination.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Operational Vision

  • Partner with independent restaurant owners and ownership to execute a cohesive operational vision, driving revenue growth.
  • Bring exceptional standard-operating discipline and training systems to elevate day-to-day hospitality, beverage programs, and market logistics.
  • Lead the onsite bar program, leading the team to elevate hospitality and drive sales.
  • Maintain an active, visible, and hands-on presence on the market floor—rolling up your sleeves during peak hours to ensure seamless execution.

Direct Team Leadership & Operational Management

  • Directly lead, mentor, and build a cohesive internal operational team consisting of:
  • Assistant General Manager (AGM), 6 Market Managers, and 25–27 overall direct/indirect staff members (including Bartenders, Barbacks, and floor support)
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-accountability team culture rooted in elite hospitality standards, structured training, and clear communication.
  • Oversee team scheduling, labor cost optimization, performance management, and professional development.

Vendor Management & Guest Experience Logistics

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for the market’s curated independent food vendors.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to enforce brand standards, ensuring vendor staff are in uniform, lines move efficiently, and guest service logistics meet premium venue standards.
  • Oversee full-venue seating areas, common guest spaces, sanitation, security, and facility systems to deliver an exceptional guest environment.

Financial Accountability & Business Acumen

  • Own end-to-end P&L accountability for venue-managed revenue streams, labor, and operational expenses.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and consulting partners on financial forecasting, margin optimization, and monthly performance reviews.

Work Environment

  • High-volume, dynamic food hall setting requiring high mobility and regular presence on the floor.
  • Evening, weekend, and peak event availability required.
  • Ability to physically navigate a large venue floor and perform light physical activity as operational needs dictate.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership in high-volume hospitality, multi-concept dining venues, food halls, or high-volume food & beverage groups, with 5+ years as a General Manager.
  • Proven success managing complex, high-volume properties ($15M+ annual top-line revenue).
  • A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to bring structured training, systems, and creative energy to a multi-layered stakeholder environment.
  • Deep experience directly managing bar programs, floor managers, and front-of-house staff (25+ team members).
  • Strong vendor-relations skills: the ability to hold external culinary partners accountable to guest experience and operational standards with tact and authority.
  • A hands-on, "roll-up-your-sleeves" work ethic—someone who leads from the floor, not behind a desk.
  • Standard local industry certifications required (ServSafe Manager, TIPS, Crowd Control).

Benefits

  • Compensation: 130-150K
  • Medical/dental/vision, disability, life insurance
  • Discretionary bonus potential
  • PTO - 3 weeks
  • Sick days
  • 100% employer paid parking
  • $400/food and beverage allowance in market,
  • EOE - We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
