We're working with a client seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a lean, high-performing Finance team supporting insurance finance and regulated financial services operations. This role sits at the intersection of financial operations, FP&A, and finance analytics, ideal for someone who thrives working independently, digging into complex data, and translating findings into real recommendations for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support core finance operations including monthly close, reconciliations, and internal control processes
  • Build and maintain complex, repeatable financial workpapers and analyses in Excel
  • Analyze large data sets, validate results, and identify root causes behind variances or discrepancies
  • Convert financial and operational findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments, employees, management, and clients to support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare polished, presentation-ready materials in PowerPoint for leadership and stakeholder review
  • Work independently within a lean Finance team, taking ownership of assignments and consistently identifying opportunities to improve on the initial scope of the work

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance operations, accounting, FP&A, finance analytics, finance transformation, insurance finance, or regulated financial services
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to structure complex analyses and build accurate, repeatable workpapers
  • Strong PowerPoint capabilities for stakeholder-facing reporting
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger data, monthly close, reconciliations, internal controls, and transaction-based Finance workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, validate results, identify root causes, and convert findings into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and business-partnership skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments, with employees, management, and clients
