We are seeking a Materials Control Technician to support the critical behind-the-scenes work that makes donation possible. Shift InformationThis position works a weekend mid-shift schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 2:30 AM.
The OpportunityThe Materials Control Technician is responsible for maintaining inventory, managing medical supplies, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, monitoring laboratory equipment, supporting facility operations, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role serves as a vital link in the donation process by ensuring clinical teams have immediate access to the equipment, instruments, and supplies needed to support organ and tissue recovery.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, accountability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll DoIn this role, you will:
- Support HonorBridge's mission by ensuring critical supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and ready to support organ and tissue donation activities.

- Maintain compliance with HonorBridge policies, procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Build positive working relationships through effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for preservation and tissue recovery operations to support uninterrupted clinical activities.
- Order supplies, manage inventory rotation using First-In-First-Out practices, and notify leadership of inventory concerns or shortages.
- Inspect, receive, quarantine, and release incoming supplies while maintaining required inventory documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for deliveries, shipments, and supply receipt activities.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing and stewardship of organizational resources.
- Clean, prepare, inspect, package, and sterilize preservation and tissue recovery instruments according to organizational policies and manufacturer recommendations.
- Monitor instrument functionality and coordinate repairs or replacement of defective equipment.
- Operate, monitor, and support preventive maintenance activities for sterilizers, freezers, refrigerators, and other laboratory equipment.
- Maintain separate instrument inventories and ensure adequate availability of preservation and tissue recovery equipment.
- Manage purchase orders, receipts, packing slips, and inventory documentation while supporting Accounts Payable processes.
- Maintain accurate records for supplies and reagents, including manufacturer information, lot numbers, receipt dates, and expiration dates.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient supply and sterile processing areas.
- Support facility operations through coordination of equipment repairs, maintenance activities, and required cleaning documentation.
- Assist with audits, inspections, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous process improvement efforts.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications- Associate degree preferred; healthcare-related coursework or concentration is a plus but not required.

- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to HonorBridge's mission and the field of organ and tissue donation.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical, healthcare, sterile processing, laboratory, or related experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with inventory management and supply control processes.
- Experience with instrument sterilization and sterile processing practices.
- Experience maintaining records, completing documentation, and supporting regulatory compliance activities.
- Knowledge of healthcare quality, safety, or regulatory standards.
