Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with varying needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily living activities and promoting their independence. This position requires a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment while implementing effective behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors.
• Monitor and record vital signs as necessary, ensuring the health and well-being of clients.
• Provide support in memory care activities, encouraging cognitive engagement and social interaction.
• Assist clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety during transfers.
• Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed, maintaining a reliable schedule.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents that occur during shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living or direct support roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility challenges safely.
• Familiarity with health monitoring systems and procedures for recording vital signs is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• A valid driver's license is required for transportation duties.
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
