Schedule: 36 or 48 Hours/Week (12-Hour Shifts)

Pay Rate: $52–$54/hr

Estimated Weekly Pay:

  • 36 Hours: $1,872–$1,944/week

  • 48 Hours: $2,496–$2,592/week

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ICU/Stepdown Registered Nurse to provide care for critically ill patients in a combined 6-bed ICU and 6-bed Stepdown Unit (SDU). Candidates must be comfortable managing ventilated patients, titratable IV drips, and floating between ICU and SDU based on census. Current Epic EMR experience is required.


Requirements
  • Recent ICU experience required

  • Experience caring for critically ill adult patients

  • Experience managing vasopressors, propofol, fentanyl, insulin, and other titratable IV drips

  • Experience with ventilators, BiPAP, and cardiac monitoring

  • Comfortable floating between ICU and Stepdown Unit

  • Ability to work every other weekend

  • Current Epic EMR experience required


Required Credentials
  • Active California RN License

  • BLS Certification

  • ACLS Certification

  • PALS Certification

  • BSN preferred

  • Acute care hospital experience preferred


Facility Details
  • 72-bed Acute Care Hospital

  • Combined 6-bed ICU and 6-bed Stepdown Unit

  • ICU Ratio: 1:2

  • Stepdown Ratio: 1:3

  • EMR: EPIC & Cerner

  • Medication System: Pyxis

  • Vascular Access Team available 6:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • 24-hour Pharmacy

  • 24-hour Phlebotomy

  • Hospitalist on-site 24/7

  • Intensivist on-site during the day and on call overnight

  • Scrubs: Any solid color


Unit Highlights
  • ICU and Stepdown nurses routinely float between both units

  • May float to Med-Surg or ED if ICU/SDU census is low

  • Typical patients include:

    • Respiratory Failure

    • Sepsis

    • DKA

    • STEMI (post-cardiac cath)

    • Alcohol Withdrawal

    • Atrial Fibrillation with RVR

  • Equipment includes ventilators, temperature management devices, and ICU monitoring systems

  • Performs moderate sedation procedures

  • Orientation includes virtual onboarding, education day, and two clinical orientation shifts
