What You'll Do

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the lead teachers in providing high-quality care and education to children, aligning with our philosophy of child-centered learning
  • Develop strong relationships with each student through conversations and play-based interactions, both indoors and outdoors
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed of their child's daily experiences and progress
  • Assist in preparing and arranging engaging classroom experiences, and ensure the classroom remains tidy and organized
  • Help with snack and meal preparation, and contribute to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
  • Support children with basic hygiene needs, including handwashing, diapering, potty-training, and first aid
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including in-service days and I-Lead training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teachers


Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to undergo CPR and first aid training
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must be willing to undergo a physical and TB test


Nice To Haves

Desirable Qualifications

  • Pursuing or having a degree in Child Development Associate (CDA) or Early Learning
  • Experience working in a preschool teaching setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to receive guidance and mentorship in the classroom
  • Alignment with our philosophy and a desire to pursue a career in early learning

About Us

New Hope for Families provides shelter and early learning programs that keep families together and lift children into a promising future. Our Early Learning Center has four classrooms, Infants, Ones, Twos and a PreK. We can enroll up to forty-eight children and half of our enrollment is reserved for children who have experienced homelessness. The New Hope ELC is a Paths To Quality Level 3 school, and is pursuing Level 4and national accreditation.
