Our team operates with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in delivering high-quality work while investing in the development of future leaders.Position Summary:The Pipe Foreman is responsible for leading utility construction crews in the installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, force main, water main, and lift station systems. This position oversees daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, project plans, and regulatory requirements. The Pipe Foreman serves as the primary field leader for assigned crews and is expected to promote teamwork, quality workmanship, productivity, and a strong safety culture.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & SupervisionSupervise, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of utility crews. Assign work responsibilities and monitor crew productivity. Train, mentor, and develop employees while promoting teamwork and accountability. Maintain a safe work environment and enforce Company safety policies, OSHA standards, and trench safety requirements. Immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors and report incidents promptly.Project ManagementInterpret project plans, specifications, blueprints, and utility drawings. Plan daily work activities and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials. Ensure installation of underground utilities meets Company quality standards and project specifications. Verify line and grade using levels, pipe lasers, and other surveying equipment. Coordinate inspections with municipalities, utility authorities, engineers, and project management. Monitor project progress and communicate schedule changes, field issues, and production updates to the Superintendent.Quality & ProductivityEnsure projects are completed on schedule while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Monitor labor productivity and assist in controlling project costs. Identify and resolve field conflicts, utility clashes, and installation challenges. Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate material or equipment needs.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong mathematical and measurement skills. Ability to make sound decisions under changing field conditions. Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in construction management a plus. Minimum five (5) years of underground utility construction experience. Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience. Working knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, force main, water main, and lift station construction. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience using pipe lasers, builders' levels, and grade-checking equipment. Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and excavation safety. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to successfully pass a post-offer drug screeningPreferredOSHA 30 certification. GPS grade control experience.Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:This position primarily works outdoors on active construction sites and must be able to perform strenuous physical work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and environmental conditions, including high temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity, rain, cold, and other conditions commonly encountered on construction and site-development projects. The position may involve prolonged physical exertion during hot and humid weather. Employees must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position under these conditions, with reasonable accommodation where applicable. Must be able to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and, at times, as much as 90 pounds. Constant physical efforts including standing, is required during a regular work shift for at least eight hours per day. Regular exposure to changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, dust, mud, heavy equipment, noise, and excavation hazards.The employee must be able to:Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in trenches for extended periods. Safely operate around heavy construction equipment and moving vehicles. Work overtime, weekends, or varying schedules as project demands require. Travel to multiple project locations throughout the northern and metro Atlanta area.
