ABOUT THE ROLEChatterNola is hiring a Pediatric Autism Therapy Technician in the Metairie area.This is a great opportunity for someone pursuing speech-language pathology, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, early childhood education, social work, or behavior analysis.We are looking for someone who is playful, dependable, compassionate, coachable, and comfortable working hands-on with young children in a pediatric therapy clinic.In this role, you will help children build communication, play, social, and daily living skills through developmentally appropriate, play-based therapy.Ideal candidates are available Monday–Friday during daytime hours and seek meaningful clinical experience with young children.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide 1:1 ABA-based support using play-based and NET strategiesImplement treatment goals under BCBA supervisionSupport transitions, waiting, emotional regulation, and early learning skillsCollect session data and document progressCommunicate effectively with supervisors and team membersMaintain professionalism, consistency, and reliabilityQUALIFICATIONSGenuine interest in working with young children with autism and developmental delaysMinimum 1 year of experience working with children in any setting, such as childcare, preschool, tutoring, camp, therapy, or caregivingComfortable engaging in play-based therapy, sitting on the floor, singing, moving, and following the child's leadWillingness to learn Natural Environment Teaching, developmental strategies, and ABA-based interventionAbility to receive real-time feedback, coaching, and modeling during sessionsReliable attendance, professional communication, and consistent follow-throughBLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtainAbility to pass required background checksPreferred QualificationsRBT certification1–2+ years of experience working with young childrenExperience with autism, early intervention, ABA, speech therapy, special education, or developmental delaysFamiliarity with play-based, NET, ESDM, JASPER, or other developmental approachesExperience following a treatment plan and collecting dataNote: This role prioritizes regulation, coachability, and consistency over credentials alone.SCHEDULE & WORK EXPECTATIONS (PLEASE READ)Clinic-based onlySchedule Options (Clinic-Based): Schedules are consistent once assigned.Preference given to candidates who can commit to a stable block.Morning Block: 8:30 AM–12:30 PMFull Day: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, 8:30 AM -2:30 PM, 10:30 AM, 4:30 PMAfternoon Block: 12:30 PM–4:30 PMHigh engagement, active, play-based work.
