- Manage all supervisors, account managers, and assistant account managers.
- Mentor, coach, hire, and evaluate all staff in the employee benefits space.
- Evaluate all policies and procedures and find better, more efficient ways to do things.
- Work a desk and back up staff when needed.
- Be a technical resource for the team.
- Manage workflow issues.
- Make sure staff feel appreciated.
- Audit books of business on a regular basis.
- Act as the primary contact between client, prospect, agency, and producer; represent the agency in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes, or resolving grievances.
- Initiate and handle marketing of the account beginning 120 days prior to the renewal date. Gather the necessary information regarding new/existing accounts and submit this information to the various and appropriate carriers to obtain proposals; investigate carrier products; and analyze and review clients’ data to recommend appropriate plans and proposals to offer the client.
- Conduct open enrollment presentations in front of an audience.
- A minimum of 6 years in benefits with at least 3 years as an account executive or team lead. Strong knowledge of complex benefits accounts.
- A life and health license is a must, as is independent agency experience.
