Mechanical Superintendent
A rapidly growing engineering and industrial construction firm in Peachtree City is seeking an energetic and motivated person to join our team as a Superintendent. Superintendents will work on job sites around the metro Atlanta area and the southeastern United States.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
· Leading multiple teams of crew members
· Reviewing drawings thoroughly to make sure the work is completed per plans
· Understanding and adhering to the project cost budget
· Understanding the scope of work and what is in each contract
· Understanding and enforcing the Master Agreement with our subcontractors
· Setting up and maintaining the job site trailer with supplies needed
· Maintaining partitions and barriers on the job site
· Ordering materials and equipment as needed
· Ensuring all quality standards are met and notifying Project Manager of any exceptions
· Serving as a liaison for all safety and quality inspections
· Creating schedule updates for Project Manager
· Opening and closing the job site each day
· Taking head count of trades on site and the work performed
· Documenting material deliveries, equipment deliveries, visitors, safety issues, and photos in the Procore daily log
· Inspecting all equipment and tools to make sure they are safe for use. If not, repair or remove the tool from operation.
· Ensuring all trades are working safely and following OSHA guidelines
· Ensuring all workers are wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Ensuring all subcontractors are supplying their workers with the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Issuing warnings to those who are not following established procedures and guidelines and submitting Disciplinary Action forms to Human Resources as needed
· Anticipating staffing and material needs and communicating to Project Manager
· Monitoring weather to determine if taking shelter or implementing customer evacuation plans is necessary
· Reviewing construction schedule to ensure project deadlines are met
· Monitoring dumpster capacity and exchanging them as needed
· Communicating any issues to Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager
· Reviewing any plan changes
· Ensuring job site is clean
· Obtaining Purchase Orders for all job-related expenses
· Reporting any vehicle or job site accidents to the Safety Director immediately and complete the forms to properly document the incidents
· Ensuring proper PPE is available at the job site
· Conducting safety talks/safety meetings and document
· Completing 3-week look-ahead based on scheduled activities
· Updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in binder at the job site
· Reviewing and adjusting construction schedule as needed
· Checking first aid kit to see if it needs replenishing
· Checking fire extinguishers to see if they have been discharged and verifying that they have a current inspection tag
· Monitoring portable toilets cleaning
· Completing HBNext weekly safety training
· Responding to emails in a timely manner
