About This Role

We are a group family daycare in Prospect Lefferts Gardens that offers a high-quality, nurturing environment to a mixed-age group of children ages 2 to 4 years old. As a warm and reliable Assistant, you will bring positive energy to your work and collaborate with our team to create a safe, joyful, and enriching space where children learn, grow, and thrive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, collaborative setting.


Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM



What You'll Do

You will be working collaboratively with our team to:

  • Support daily activities and routines in the classroom
  • Create a safe, engaging, and organized environment for children
  • Supervise children during play, meals, and rest time, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
  • Help implement age-appropriate learning activities that foster growth and development
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the daycare space
  • Assist with recordkeeping, including attendance and incident reports, and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with NYC regulations
  • Verify that all documentation is accurate, organized, and compliant with NYC regulations


Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, crouch, kneel, sit on floor, run
  • Complete 15 hours of health and safety training from the ECETP website before start date
  • Provide three references: 2 professional (from working with young children) and 1 personal
  • Successfully complete a comprehensive background check with NYC Department of Health

  • Able to conduct circle time
  • Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Lesson planning experience
  • Knowledge of Teaching Strategies/SmartTeach
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or ECE college credits
