Responsibilities

  • Provide direct labor and delivery nursing care to patients on-site.

  • Monitor and document patient status, vitals, and progress in real time.

  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and policies.

  • Maintain accurate documentation to support performance metrics and quality targets.

  • Identify and escalate clinical issues promptly to ensure patient safety.

  • Adhere to regulatory, hospital, and department policies and standards.

  • Collaborate with obstetric and neonatal teams to ensure seamless patient flow.

  • Participate in on-site quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice.

  • Demonstrate professional development by pursuing certifications and advanced training.

  • Utilize hospital pipelines and dashboards to track progress toward targets.

  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care.


Experience/Qualifications

  • RN licensure and current state board certification, without restrictions

  • Minimum 2 years in labor and delivery nursing with obstetric/neonatal exposure

  • Ability to monitor, document vitals, progress, and medications accurately in real time

  • Strong patient safety focus with timely escalation of clinical issues

  • Proficiency with hospital EMR systems, pipelines, and dashboards for targets

  • Knowledge of regulatory, hospital, and departmental policies and standards

  • Collaborative mindset to work with obstetric and neonatal teams for flow

  • Participation in on-site quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and pursuing certifications

  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients and families on procedures and care
