Purpose of the Job
This manufacturing organization is seeking Manufacturing Team Members to support production operations across multiple departments. This entry-level role provides opportunities to develop manufacturing skills while contributing to the production of high-quality metal components. Team members will work in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Lift and position workpieces manually and secure them in fixtures or automatic feeding devices.
- Perform production and assembly of parts in accordance with standardized work and quality standards.
- Assemble components accurately and efficiently while maintaining consistent product quality.
- Inspect work and identify issues related to welding, milling, pressing, or assembly processes.
- Pack finished parts into containers according to packaging standards.
- Replace worn machine accessories such as weld tips when necessary.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and lean manufacturing standards.
- Cross-train and assist in other production areas as needed.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support production operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials and operate equipment.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels may occur.
- Hearing protection and safety glasses are required and provided.
- Steel-toe safety shoes or boots are required.
Shift Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Monday – Friday with occasional overtime, including weekends as needed.
