Counter Sales Rep

Connect Staffing is hiring a Counter Sales Representative for a food production and wholesale distribution company in Los Angeles, CA. This is a temporary position paying $22/hr, Monday through Friday. In this role, you will process wholesale customer orders, handle cash and credit transactions at the counter, and manage inbound and outbound sales calls using a computer order entry system. This assignment is expected to run through October–November, with the possibility of reassessment based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Process wholesale customer sales orders and payments — cash, credit, and check — using a POS system and computer order entry system at the sales counter.
• Create invoices, work orders, and transfer orders to move products between locations or pull production items from stock.
• Handle inbound and outbound sales calls with wholesale customers.
• Coordinate with warehouse and sales team members to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
• Process returned merchandise and cash payouts accurately.
• Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety, food defense, and food quality regulations as required by the company and applicable guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in counter sales, inside sales, or a customer-facing order processing role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a computer-based order entry or POS system in a wholesale or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with creating invoices, work orders, or transfer orders.
• Background in food production, food wholesale, or perishable goods distribution.
• Experience handling inbound and outbound customer sales calls.
• Basic knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or food safety regulations.
• Experience handling cash, credit, and check payment transactions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
