Probate Paralegal
Job Description
Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to join our client’s Trusts & Estates practice group at their Downtown Fort Lauderdale office.
The Probate Paralegal will play a key role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality legal services. This position requires a proactive, highly organized professional with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced law firm environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for accurately tracking and recording their own billable time.
Qualifications- Minimum of 3 + years of paralegal experience in a law firm supporting a Trusts & Estates practice group.
- Probate experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of Trust and Probate Administration.
- Experience preparing probate pleadings and legal documents.
- Knowledge of IRS Form 706 (Estate Tax Return) and Form 709 (Gift Tax Return).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and client-focused demeanor.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
- Experience with court filings, e-filing, and recording documents/deeds.
- Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to Trusts & Estates attorneys.
- Assist with trust and probate administration matters.
- Prepare probate pleadings, legal documents, correspondence, and other filings.
- Assist with marshaling, inventorying, and distributing estate assets.
- Prepare and assist with documentation related to IRS Forms 706 and 709.
- File and record documents and deeds with courts and other applicable agencies.
- Maintain and organize client files and prepare documents for client signings.
- Communicate with clients daily in a professional and responsive manner.
- Proofread documents and correspondence for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Accurately enter and track billable time and prepare reports as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client information.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
