Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid (Requiring weekly onsite presence in Minnesota, only local candidates will be considered)
Compensation: $50-$70 / Hour dependent on applicable experience

Job Description:
We are partnering with an established organization in Minneapolis to identify an Accounting Manager to provide leadership and oversight across key accounting functions. This role will have a strong focus on accounts payable operations and KPI management, while also maintaining responsibility for general ledger activities and supporting the overall close process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with process oversight, reporting, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment activity, vendor management, and issue resolution
- Monitor AP performance and key operational KPIs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing
- Develop and maintain reporting around accounting metrics, trends, and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, controls, and overall processes
- Oversee general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation
- Support and oversee month-end and year-end close activities
- Research and resolve complex accounting discrepancies
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operational teams
- Support audit requests and additional accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong accounting background with significant accounts payable experience
- Previous experience overseeing accounting processes, teams, or functions
- Experience developing, tracking, and reporting on KPIs
- Strong general ledger and month-end close knowledge
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, fast-paced environment
