Fleet Maintenance & Repair
Pay is $20/hr About the RoleWe are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Fleet Specialist I to join our maintenance team. This entry-level position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has experience working with automotive, truck, diesel, or heavy equipment systems and enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and repair work.
What You'll DoPerform preventive maintenance services on fleet vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and inspections.
Diagnose and assist in repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Replace belts, brakes, tires, and other common wear components.
Operate diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
Read parts manuals and order parts and supplies as needed.
Complete maintenance records and required paperwork.
Assist with roadside service and emergency response activities when required.
1+ year of experience in automotive, truck, diesel, heavy equipment, engine, or chassis maintenance and repair; OR relevant automotive/diesel training.
Knowledge of two-cycle and four-cycle internal combustion engines.
Familiarity with tools, equipment, and safety procedures used in vehicle maintenance.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine mechanical repairs.
Ability to identify causes of equipment failures and troubleshoot issues.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and parts documentation.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Experience with fleet vehicles, diesel engines, heavy equipment, or public-sector maintenance operations.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one if required for the position.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to work in a shop environment and around moving mechanical equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities as required.
