HELM is now hiring an Automotive Technician III: The vision of the JLRNA Technical Center is to deliver a world-class service. SUPPLIER personnel are expected to perform in line with this vision. The scope of work by position is outlined below but not limited to:

Duties:

  • Repair vehicles: Repair vehicles to normal operating state. This includes understanding, diagnosing, and repairing all aspects of JLR family vehicles through a variety of normal maintenance, servicing, and including difficult to diagnose conditions though all vehicle systems. Also includes performing inspections, making repairs, noting repair and maintenance recommendations, and performing recall, Technical Service Bulletin, and Warranty type repairs.
  • Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Technical Center.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with JLRNA employees and supplier personnel.
  • Maintain and use equipment in Technical Center to operational standard.
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect company vehicles.
  • Ensure training requirements, as outlined by JLRNA, are completed successfully on time.
  • Maintain JLRNA’s Key Track System.
  • Co-ordinate the collection of disposable items (e.g. tires, oil, and scrap metal).
Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis, maintenance, rework and robust validation (including road testing vehicles before and after rework for quality control and feedback) of company vehicles to ensure JLR product standards and customer expectation are met. Company vehicles will include vehicles from company fleet, training, press, early production, re-acquired vehicles.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspection.
  • Provide technical support on field evaluation units and special project vehicles.
  • Prepare new model launch vehicles and support new model launch events by providing on-site technical support as determined by JLRNA.
  • Ensure that vehicle is adequately protected while it is being worked on.
  • Follow published documentation relating to service, diagnostic and maintenance procedures/ processes (e.g. TOPIx) and provide product feedback to JLRNA
  • Perform general workshop responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
  • Current/prior Jaguar, Land Rover technical training certifications very highly preferred
  • Prior Jaguar, Land Rover, European , or Premium manufacturer experience highly preferred
  • Residence within close proximity to Mahwah, NJ preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Technicians need to supply own tools, built in toolboxes are in shop. Diagnostic and service shop equipment is provided.
