Patient Services Representative
Job Description
The Patient Services Representative is responsible for providing administrative and customer support services to patients and internal stakeholders. This role assists with patient inquiries, order status updates, account information, and general service-related requests while helping ensure a positive patient experience. The Patient Services Representative works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support efficient operations and maintain high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary point of contact for patient inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Provide information regarding services, orders, account status, and general support requests.
- Document patient interactions accurately and maintain appropriate records in company systems.
- Assist patients with navigating processes, completing required documentation, and resolving routine issues.
- Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate timely responses and issue resolution.
- Monitor and respond to incoming communications in a professional and timely manner.
- Escalate complex concerns or service issues to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and adherence to established procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering courteous, empathetic, and professional service.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous customer service, patient support, administrative, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business software applications.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, telehealth, customer support, or related industries.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, video conferencing, and electronic communications.
- Ability to perform repetitive administrative and data-entry tasks as needed.
