Our company designs and installs projects for a wide range of Government, Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Medical, Institutional and Retail facilities across the United States.

SUMMARY:

Under supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the installation of meters and perform other related work as required. This role will require adherence to DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Requirements as described in 49 CFR Part 199. This role will also be required to successfully complete written and performance evaluations in accordance with PHMSA 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart N – Operator Qualification, and any other specific requirements defined by local or state authorities, or the Customer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports to Crew Leader, Site Supervisor and/or Construction Manager to receive daily assignment
  • Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks involving the use of different hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment used to retrofit, replace and repair meters.
  • Primary tasks include removal of old meters, installation of new meters, including retrofitting existing meters.
  • Assists with loading or unloading of trucks and staging material when needed.
  • Complies with the company’s personal hand tools safety requirements
  • Maintains tools and maintenance equipment are in working order.
  • Install, remove, and replace residential, commercial, and industrial gas meters according to utility company standards and safety codes.
  • Connect meters to gas service lines, regulators, and other associated equipment.
  • Test new installations for leaks, proper pressure, and accurate meter operation.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and inspections of existing meters.
  • Identify, report, and correct leaks or other hazardous conditions.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations (Preferred):
    • OSHA 10
    • Arial Lift
    • Forklift
  • Computer skills required:
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Basic Tablet/Computer knowledge
  • Other skills required:
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

COMPETENCIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted through the course of work
  • Operate various electric, gasoline powered equipment used in the work being performed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at interpreting Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) Codes.

Basic installation, retrofitting, repair and maintenance procedures and practices.

Work Days: As Needed, Job Specific, Primarily Monday-Thursday.

Work Hours: As Needed, Job Specific, Primarily 7am-5:30pm
