About This Role

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum, and managing daily classroom activities to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can actively engage and succeed. Teachers must possess a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to meet their diverse needs and guide them towards success. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to effectively manage the classroom, resolve parental concerns, and ensure the well-being of all.



What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement educational curriculum by designing engaging classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example, fostering a collaborative teaching team through modeling and coaching
  • Design individual and group activities tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, promoting social, cognitive, and emotional growth
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences
  • Ensure adherence to all center policies and state regulations
  • Establish a healthy classroom environment, adhering to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards and maintaining the safety and security of children
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, and provide exceptional care
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, ensuring timely completion and easy access
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to drive continuous quality improvement


Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of professional child care experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
  • High energy and the ability to work effectively with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a positive team environment
  • A deep understanding of child development
  • Must hold Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening
  • CDA or Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE
  • Ability to perform frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at various levels, and potentially kneel, bend, squat, or crawl to lift 35lbs, as well as possess the following specific vision abilities: to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
