Job Summary:
As a Shop Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our industrial facility. Your primary responsibilities will involve operating a variety of equipment and machinery, assisting with general maintenance and assembly tasks, and contributing to the overall productivity of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain industrial equipment, such as brake presses, metal shears, and welding machines
- Assist with the assembly and fabrication of industrial components and materials
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties to ensure a safe and organized work environment
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of propane, sit-down, and gas-powered tools and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and projects in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a general labor or industrial setting
- Familiarity with the operation of industrial equipment, such as brake presses, metal shears, and welding machines
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges
Working Conditions:
This position will be based in our industrial facility, which may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, such as noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations. The work schedule is typically 40 hours per week, with the potential for occasional overtime as needed. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $17-$18 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement contributions, and opportunities for career advancement.
