About This Role

The Teacher Assistant/Aide fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for children and staff alike, promoting a culture of care and quality education. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.



What You'll Do

  • Participate in curriculum planning and activities, encouraging active engagement from children.
  • Lead by example, promoting self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling, while maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Ensure a seamless transition for children from home to child care center, fostering a sense of security and belonging.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement a quality educational program, adhering to center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a professional development plan to continually enhance quality improvement.


Requirements

  1. Must have a basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals and objectives
  2. Must have a basic understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students being serviced.
  3. Must be able to use the control and discipline techniques that are established for the classroom.
  4. Must work cooperatively with the assigned teacher and other staff.
  5. Must have the following education, training and experience

a. High school diploma.

b. One year of experience working with children.

c. Positive references and recommendations.

d. Clear full background check and pass health screening.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with basic computer proficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid is a plus.
