Day in the life

Picture this: sunrise in Columbus, OH. Your service vehicle is stocked, your first stop is a rooftop unit that needs a sharp diagnostic eye, and your afternoon holds a preventive maintenance visit on a busy storefront. An emergency call might drop in between — rain, snow, or blazing sun — and you’ll handle it with calm professionalism. You’ll consult wiring diagrams and schematics, zero in on the root cause, communicate clearly with the customer and your team, document every step, and keep the system humming.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems while communicating with customers and teammates, documenting work thoroughly, and responding to emergencies in all conditions.
• Review the layout of existing heating devices and air conditioning units to plan efficient work procedures.
• Obtain materials and supplies in line with established policies and procedures.
• Service machinery by cleaning, lubricating, or replacing shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other critical components.
• Complete diagnostic troubleshooting of HVAC systems using wiring diagrams and schematics.

What makes you successful

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
• Hands-on background diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & benefits

• $55,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year based on experience and capability.

Tools, tech, and proficiencies

• Proficient with HVAC/R systems, heating and air conditioning, and HVAC service & installation.
