Manufacturing Cell Operations Lead (AS9100/Aerospace)

We’re looking for a hands-on leader to elevate safety, quality, delivery, and productivity across a manufacturing cell while cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

Why this role matters

You will be the catalyst who converts the plan into performance—translating the daily schedule into clear priorities, developing people, and removing roadblocks so parts flow reliably to our customers.

Your impact

• Own day-to-day coordination of operators and work centers to meet SQDP goals.
• Align labor and workflow to customer demand; adjust on the fly as priorities shift.
• Train, coach, and cross-train team members to raise capability and flexibility.
• Enforce safety, quality, and procedural compliance across the cell.
• Measure performance (output, downtime, efficiency, KPIs) and drive improvements.
• Diagnose issues with equipment, materials, tooling, and processes; implement fixes.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to improve reliability and throughput.
• Schedule and support preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned stops.
• Lead Lean/5S initiatives and continuous improvement projects that eliminate waste.
• Keep a clean, orderly, and safe workplace.
• Conduct reviews and provide continuous performance feedback.
• Take on related responsibilities as needed to support production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing setting with direct supervisory or lead responsibility.
• Strong communicator and organizer with a track record of developing people.
• Working knowledge of production machinery and processes; press experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting strengths.
• Ability to read prints, travelers, and detailed work instructions.
• Background with Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement systems.
• Experience using ERP/MRP or other production tracking tools.
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Preferred proficiencies

• Kaizen facilitation
• Frontline coaching and mentoring
• ERP & MRP fluency
• Aerospace manufacturing familiarity
• AS9100 experience

Physical requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, and bending throughout the shift.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to typical factory conditions: varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
