Material handler
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to join our Fond du lac client’s manufacturing production team. In this role, you will manage the flow of heavy steel components, raw materials, and sub-assemblies across our facility to keep welding, paint, and final assembly operations running smoothly.

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st shift
Starting Pay –$20 to $22 per hour
Required Experience –At least 2 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Material Movement: Safely operate sit-down forklifts, overhead bridge cranes, and material carts to transport heavy weldments, parts, and hardware.
- Staging & Kitting: Read work orders, bills of materials (BOM), and pick sheets to kit parts and deliver them to designated assembly cells and weld bays.
- Shipping & Receiving: Unload incoming freight trucks, verify part counts against packing slips, and stage finished attachments for outbound shipment.
- Inventory Control: Log transactions into our inventory system, participate in routine cycle counts, and report shortages or defective parts.
- Safety & 5S: Maintain clean, safe aisles and staging areas; conduct daily pre-operation inspections on industrial trucks and hoisting equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of material handling, staging, or warehouse experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial facility preferred.
- Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated experience operating sit-down forklifts; experience with overhead cranes, rigging, and heavy steel handling is a major plus.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read shop orders, packing lists, and basic shop documentation; comfortable using digital inventory scanners or computers.
- Physical Capabilities: Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk on concrete floors for the duration of an 8-to-10 hour shift.
- Mindset: Strong commitment to personal safety, teamwork, and reliable attendance.
