About This Role

Early Discoveries Nursery and Preschool seeks a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide a nurturing environment for children. As a daycare teacher, you will plan and implement engaging activities, foster positive relationships, and ensure the well-being of each child. This role requires collaboration with staff and effective communication with parents. Following DCF rules and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment are essential responsibilities. Familiarity with technology, such as the ELV and Dojo app, is also necessary for tracking staff and children's information. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to our daycare's unique atmosphere and commit to ongoing professional development.



What You'll Do

Childcare and Supervision:

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for children, meeting their physical and emotional needs.
  • Ensure the well-being of children during indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining a watchful presence at all times.
  • Meet children's basic needs, including feeding and diapering, with sensitivity and care.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans and activities tailored to each child's developmental stage.
  • Encourage a love of learning through interactive and hands-on experiences.
  • Offer opportunities for creative expression, exploration, and problem-solving.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Establish open communication with parents and staff, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive environment for children.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.


Requirements

  1. Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  2. Patience and Empathy: Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy and a passion for working with young children.
  3. CPR Certification: Possession of First Aid and CPR certification for infant and toddlers (or willingness to obtain certificate within 30 days of starting.)
  4. Have a positive attitude and reliable work ethic.
  5. Provide a fun space for children to learn, grow, and explore.


Nice To Haves

  1. Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
  2. Level 7 on the Wisconsin Registry or higher (this makes you teacher qualified) or be willing to complete 3 booklet classes to become teacher certified.
  3. Familiarity with child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.
