Non-CDL Box Truck Driver

The Non-CDL Box Truck Driver for Central Plumbing Specialties will be primarily responsible for transporting product between our warehouses, vendors and customer project sites throughout the NY/NJ/CT metro-area. Our driver is expected to be courteous, professional and deliver a high-quality customer service experience always. The Non-CDL Driver will report directly to the Operations Manager for Central Plumbing Specialties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Able to unload and load trucks daily and work with the warehouse team to confirm all products needed to be delivered are loaded to the truck.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT rules and regulations at all times. Follow traffic laws and any relevant safety protocols when operating the truck.
• Provide exceptional customer service while making deliveries which includes meeting expected time frames, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the product upon delivery, maintaining a positive attitude and following any special instructions.
• Obtain necessary Proof of Delivery photographs and attach to Eclipse via mobile app. Signature from customer must also be present to confirm delivery of product.
• Research and understand the most efficient routes throughout NJ, NYC & CT to ensure deliveries are being made in a timely manner.
• When appropriate, pick up items the customer needs to return
• Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Inspect vehicles for any issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• If no truck is scheduled that day, you will be required to assist the warehouse team in any daily responsibilities that need to be accomplished (receiving, UPS, customer pick-ups, putting product away & clean up, etc.). Need to become certified to operate Forklift and Raymond Reach truck machinery.

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Start time at 6AM
• Overtime eligible

• Must have a valid and clean Driver Class D license – no CDL license required.
• Required to lift & move at least 50lb.
• Must have experience with operating a box truck.
• Must have a DOT medical card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• Maintain positive, upbeat attitude. Always be willing to assist and answer questions from clients.
• Keen attention to detail & effective communication skills.
• Produce work with a high degree of accuracy and focus while multi-tasking.

• Possess problem-solving skills and readiness to research solutions.
• Ability to prioritize work and process large volume transactions.
• Must be able to stand, drive and lift packages during entire work shift.
