Helpful Hearts Health Services (HHHS)
Location: In- Person, Owings Mils 21117
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Human Resources

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment and hiring through separation.
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verifications, references, and required pre-employment documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
  • Process Payroll.
  • Track required staff training and ensure employees remain current with applicable training requirements.
  • Support compliance with Maryland DDA regulations, policies, and provider requirements as they relate to employees and personnel documentation.
  • Maintain documentation necessary for DDA surveys, audits, reviews, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ensure employee files contain required documentation and identify missing or expired items.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and required staff training.
  • Maintain employee training records and assist with staff compliance tracking.
  • Work closely with the Quality Enhancement and Compliance Director, Program Directors, Program Coordinators, and other leadership staff regarding personnel and compliance matters.
  • Support employee performance evaluations and performance improvement processes.
  • Assist management with disciplinary actions, corrective action plans, and employee relations matters.
  • Address employee questions and concerns professionally and confidentially.
  • Participate in internal personnel-file audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with updating HR policies, procedures, forms, and employee handbooks.
  • Promote a positive, professional, respectful, and person-centered workplace culture.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employees and organizational information.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with a Maryland DDA provider agency strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Maryland employment requirements and HR best practices.
  • Familiarity with DDA personnel, training, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience maintaining confidential personnel files and compliance documentation.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with leadership.
  • Strong professional judgment and ability to handle confidential employee matters.
