THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Job Summary:

The Payment Posting and Billing Specialist will spend a portion of their day managing account receivable billing

and collections of payments. A portion of their day will also include responsibilities for insurance claim

submission, follow up, and resolution. Responsibilities will also include assisting the department with patient

statements, patient calls, grant processes and other functions.

Job Qualifications:

  • Two (2) to five (5) years of previous medical billing and/or payment posting experience required
  • Certificate in Medical Billing/Coding and/or Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management,
  • Business, or related field preferred.
  • CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, and/or CPB credentials a plus.
  • Training and experience with ICD-10 and CPT medical billing codes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance claim submission and reimbursement processes.
  • Excellent skills in time management, cognitive reasoning, workflow solutions, etc.
  • Excellent skills in Math, English usage, grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in examining documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulation regarding privacy under the Privacy Act and HIPAA privacy and security rules.
  • Professional and business-like in appearance and demeanor.

This position has been deemed a” Safety-Sensitive” position; therefore, Morton reserves the right to

refuse to hire an applicant or may terminate an employee in a “Safety-Sensitive Position” who tests

positive for medical marijuana even if he/she has a valid medical marijuana license.
