Job Description
Position Summary
The Rental Technician plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experience as one of Hilltop Ski Area’s primary guest-facing positions. This role assists guests and employees with equipment rentals, proper equipment fitting while sharing a passion for skiing and snowboarding to help create a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Guest Service & Customer Relations
- Delivering exceptional customer service through professional, friendly, and engaging interactions with guests and coworkers.
- Ensuring guests accurately complete rental forms and waivers.
- Actively listening to customer needs and inquiries to determine appropriate service actions.
- Refer any customer questions regarding products or services to the appropriate person.
Rental Equipment Operations
- Ensuring ski/board length and setting bindings correctly for guests’ skill level.
- Checking returned rentals for damage.
- Fitting and adjusting ski and snowboard equipment.
Inventory, Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Establishing and maintaining customer profiles and preparing claim forms.
- Maintaining inventory and informing the Rental Shop Supervisor of stocking needs.
- Perform accurate company-required recordkeeping.
- Prepare receipts and documents.
Teamwork & Operational Support
- Assisting coworkers and other employees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience with the general public (customers) a plus; prior experience as a cashier a plus.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Basic Math.
- Excellent customer relationship skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from management and supervisors.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
