About the Role
Stocks General Contractors is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to support and oversee safety across our underground utility and civil construction projects.
This role is critical to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working closely with field teams to enforce safety standards and reduce risk across job sites.
What You’ll Do
%CF; Monitor job site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
%CF; Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site evaluations
%CF; Lead safety meetings and provide training to field employees
%CF; Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
%CF; Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
%CF; Identify risks and implement corrective actions
%CF; Support field leadership in maintaining safe work environments
%CF; Promote a culture of safety accountability across all teams
What We’re Looking For
Preferred
%CF; Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Certifications Required
%CF; OSHA 30-Hour Certification
%CF; Relevant safety certification
Physical Requirements
%CF; Ability to walk job sites and conduct field inspections
%CF; Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

What We’re Looking For

Experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or underground utility work - Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams and management
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to identify risks and implement practical safety solutions
- Experience working on active construction job sites
- Familiarity with trenching, excavation, and confined space safety
