Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the San Fernando Valley is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Maintenance Department while also providing oversight of our Housekeeping and Laundry Departments to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.
About the RoleAs the Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the facility's physical plant, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and patient care equipment
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve building and equipment issues efficiently
Coordinate and supervise outside contractors, vendors, and service providers performing repairs, maintenance, and construction projects
Manage the maintenance department budget, purchase supplies, and maintain inventory of maintenance equipment and materials
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, OSHA, and Life Safety Code regulations applicable to skilled nursing facilities
Direct and supervise the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, ensuring cleanliness, infection prevention standards, and quality services throughout the facility
Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry team members
Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and building systems to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in the facility's emergency preparedness program
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and departmental documentation
Previous supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare facility, or long-term care setting required
Experience overseeing environmental services, housekeeping, or laundry operations is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of Life Safety Code requirements and California skilled nursing facility regulations
Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification is a plus
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple departments and prioritize competing responsibilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed
Ability to safely lift, bend, climb ladders, and move maintenance equipment
Competitive pay starting at $28.00–$30.00 per hour (DOE)
