Seeking an experienced aerospace inspection professional with NAS 410 Level II qualification or eligibility in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, ET, or RT).
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect aerospace parts using approved nondestructive examination methods.
- Operate and verify inspection equipment before use.
- Evaluate test indications and determine product conformity.
- Review drawings, shop paperwork, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate product traceability.
- Identify, label, and separate parts that do not meet requirements.
- Prepare quality documentation and nonconformance reports as needed.
- Confirm that inspection tools and equipment have current calibration status.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Assist with investigations and corrective actions involving product quality.
- Provide technical assistance and hands-on guidance to less-experienced inspectors.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow FOD-prevention practices.
- Escalate or stop work when there is a concern regarding product quality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Level II training, certification, or documented eligibility under NAS 410 in at least one of the following methods:
- Liquid Penetrant Testing
- Magnetic Particle Testing
- Ultrasonic Testing
- Eddy Current Testing
- Radiographic Testing
- Documented classroom instruction and practical experience required for employer certification.
- Ability to interpret inspection results and complete related documentation.
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing paperwork.
- Ability to pass required vision and color-perception examinations.
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, or repair experience.
- Previous work in an FAA-regulated or Nadcap-accredited environment.
- Qualification in more than one NDT method.
- Experience with nonconforming material and aerospace quality systems.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Perform detailed and repetitive hand movements.
- Work around inspection chemicals, specialized lighting, and manufacturing equipment.
- Use ladders or work platforms when required.
