The Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents, while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Job SummaryAs a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to established menus and recipes. You will work closely with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services to ensure that all meals are prepared on time and to the highest standard. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety guidelines, and ensuring that all food is stored and served in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes
Work closely with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services to ensure that all meals are prepared on time and to the highest standard
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety guidelines
Ensure that all food is stored and served in accordance with facility policies and procedures
Assist with food preparation for special events and functions
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
Participate in quality control measures to ensure that all food meets quality and safety standards
High school diploma or equivalent required
One (1) year dietary/food service experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position
Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position
Ability to work in a ventilated, well-lit area with frequent interruptions
Ability to communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff, and other departments
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Ability to adapt to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively
