About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing environment for young minds to thrive. This dedicated team member assists Teachers and the Director in providing exceptional care and education, fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. As a key contributor, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for observing, documenting, and relaying children's progress to parents and staff, while implementing engaging activities that cater to their interests and needs under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.



What You'll Do

  • Support the development and implementation of curricula activities that stimulate children's interests and promote active participation.
  • Take ownership of classroom maintenance, ensuring materials are clean, organized, and accessible at all times.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress updates, keeping them informed of their child's growth and development.
  • Model healthy habits and promote self-care among children by demonstrating good hygiene practices.
  • Ensure a seamless transition for children from home to the child care center, making sure their needs are met and they feel comfortable and secure.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of care and education.
  • Embracing a culture of continuous improvement, the Teacher Assistant maintains a personal professional development plan to stay abreast of best practices and industry developments.


Requirements

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care center experience.
  • High energy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
