After-Hours Registered Nurse (RN) - HospicePosition Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (2-4 shifts per week)Schedule: Overnight shifts, 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM (Monday-Friday)Location: Denver Metro and surrounding areasPosition SummaryThe After-Hours RN is responsible for providing overnight triage, support, and in-person care to hospice patients and families. This role focuses on managing urgent needs, providing symptom management, and supporting patients at end-of-life during overnight hours.This position is designed to reduce the overnight burden on daytime clinical staff while ensuring timely, compassionate care for patients and families.Schedule2-4 overnight shifts per week10:00 PM - 8:00 AMMonday-Friday coverageFlexible scheduling based on availability and organizational needsKey ResponsibilitiesRespond to after-hours calls from patients, families, and facilitiesProvide clinical triage and guidance over the phoneMake in-person visits as needed for:Symptom managementImminent death supportUrgent clinical needsPerform death visits, including pronouncement and support for familiesCommunicate clearly with providers and interdisciplinary team as neededDocument all patient interactions in a timely and accurate mannerEnsure continuity of care by providing updates to the daytime teamProvide emotional support to patients and families during overnight hoursQualificationsActive, unencumbered RN license in ColoradoMinimum 2 years of nursing experience requiredHospice or Home Health experience requiredComfortable working independently overnightStrong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and documentation skillsAbility to respond to calls and travel within service area as neededWork Environment & ExpectationsPrimarily remote/on-call overnight with in-person visits as neededMust be able to respond promptly to calls and travel when requiredOvernight work requires ability to manage fatigue and maintain clinical judgmentLow visit volume expected, with variabilityCompensationHourly base rate: $20/hourAdditional compensation per visit (based on visit type)This role is structured to provide consistent overnight coverage with relatively low visit volume.
