Job Summary:

Vivo Healthcare University is a 3+ star Nursing Home seeking a Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional food services to our residents. You will be responsible for assisting with all food functions, setting up meal trays, preparing food, and maintaining the cleanliness of food service areas.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleaning up after meals

• Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed

• Check diet trays before distribution to ensure accuracy and quality

• Prepare food according to established recipes and sanitation guidelines

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of food storage areas and kitchen equipment

• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure efficient service

• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors

• Participate in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on food service best practices

Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of an 8th-grade education

• On-the-job training provided

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents

Working Conditions:

• Works in a well-lighted and ventilated area with warm temperatures during cooking

• Moves intermittently throughout the workday

• Is subject to frequent interruptions and sudden temperature changes

• May be required to work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in emergency situations

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner

• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position

• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to function adequately
