Production Utility Forklift

Job title: Backroom Utility-Forklift

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Production Manager

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to keep the production and loading and receiving work areas clean and organized while supporting all production team members with workflow and removal/replacement of bin, carts, hangers or racks. In addition, this team member has been properly trained to utilize both the baler and forklift.

Responsibilities and duties:

%CF; Empties trash as it accumulates

%CF; Removes empty carts while replacing them with full carts as needed by the sorters.

%CF; Moves non-sellable items to either the baler or trash

%CF; Assists drivers with unloading

%CF; Assists customers with furniture loading

%CF; Produces bales as needed

%CF; Loads or unloads trucks as necessary utilizing the forklift

%CF; Operates the forklift minimally and when other team members are not present

%CF; Maintains a clean and organized workstation

%CF; Regularly meets the production goals of the position as outlined by the company

%CF; Follow all safety guidelines and procedures

%CF; Provides friendly and courteous service in all interactions with customers

Required Skills and Abilities

%CF; Must be able to read, write and communicate with other team members

%CF; Must demonstrate an attention to detail and keep records as required

%CF; Good eye-hand coordination to sort, grasp, hang or reroute product

%CF; May be required to perform in an alternate role at the request of the supervisor

Physical Requirements

%CF; Lifting and carrying 50 lbs.

%CF; Reaching overhead 60% of time

%CF; Pushing and pulling 4-6 lbs. of force (to push/pull up to 100 lbs. rolling rack)

%CF; Pushing and pulling 50% of time

%CF; Standing 100% of time

%CF; Repetitive use of hands 80% of time

%CF; Bending and crouching 20% of time

%CF; Grasping items with hands 100% of time

Working Conditions:

Education and Experience:

• High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences.
