Matrix Providers is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Camp Pendleton, CA

  • Employment Status: Full-Time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi weekly
    • $23.09-$24.31 ; H&W $ 4.57
  • Schedule: 7:45am-4:15pm
    • NHCP Pharmacy Department - Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday to include holidays, between the hours of 0000 and 2359 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for a five 8.5 hour period or four 10.5 hours, to include an uncompensated 30-minute lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services more than 80 hours per two-week period. Any changes in the schedule shall be coordinated between the HCW and the Government.
  • Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

The Pharmacy Technician must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Certificate
  • Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military

Pharmacy Technician Core Job Duties:

  • Attend Board and staff meetings and prepare required reports.
  • Prepare inpatient medications, including compounded sterile preparations.
  • Perform pharmacy technician duties, including dispensing, prescription processing/refills, and database order entry.
  • Support medication consultations, patient/provider requests, drug-interaction monitoring, and adverse reaction reporting.
  • Perform quality and supply management, including inspections, expired-item reviews, inventory/stocking, ordering, and workload/error reporting.
