Childcare Cook

The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare meals and snacks for children and staff at the center, while ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and well-stocked. This position reports directly to the Director and/or Assistant Director.

• Prepare a list of needed food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Sanitization of kitchen and dishes
• Follow all the center policies and state regulations.
• Prepare, cook, and serve meals.
• Ensure any allergy to foods are known and prepared according to instructions.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Any task asked by the Director or Assistant Director.

• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Must complete training for Health Safety Orientation, Fire Safety Training
• Must complete training for Nutrition and Food
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check.
• Annual training is required
• Must have 1 – 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in childcare or institutional setting.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Move as the position requires.
