School-Age Assistant Teacher

The Day Care Center of New Canaan is hiring school-age assistants. We follow the New Canaan Public School calendar and are offering part-time work on regular school days and full-time hours on vacation days, holidays, and summer. Applicants must be 16 years or older and enjoy working with school-age children as part of a teaching team. Perfect for high school juniors or seniors or someone attending a local college.

Hours: Monday-Friday 2:30-5:30 (regular school days)

12:00-5:30 (on half days)

9:30-5:30 (vacation, holidays, and summer) On full days there is a one hour unpaid lunch break

• Wages are hourly and will be determined by applicant's level of experience.

• Be able to work as a member of our teaching team
• Assist in implementation of daily planned activities
• Be courteous and professional
• Maintain a positive attitude when communicating with children and families
• Complete 5 hours of continuing education annually
• Yearly epipen and first aid training (center will cover the cost)
• CPR training every two years (center will cover the cost)
