Aspire Senior Living Moberly is looking for an Infection Preventionist Nurse to lead infection prevention and control efforts within our long-term care community in Moberly, MO.

In this important role, the Infection Preventionist Nurse will partner with nursing, clinical, and support teams to strengthen infection prevention practices, monitor trends, educate staff, and help ensure our community meets regulatory standards. You’ll also provide clinical oversight related to resident skin health, wound prevention, and early identification of skin integrity concerns, helping promote positive resident outcomes and prevent avoidable complications.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures based on current guidelines and best practices.

  • Monitor and track healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), infectious disease trends, outbreaks, and antimicrobial usage.

  • Analyze infection control data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct infection risk assessments and implement prevention strategies.

  • Educate and train team members on infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE use, environmental cleaning, and outbreak response.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for staff regarding infectious diseases and infection control guidelines.

  • Monitor resident skin integrity and help identify changes, areas of concern, and potential risks for skin breakdown.

  • Support skin and wound prevention practices, including pressure injury prevention, appropriate repositioning, and other interventions designed to maintain healthy skin.

  • Collaborate with nursing staff and providers to support appropriate assessment, documentation, treatment, and follow-up of wounds and other skin integrity concerns.

  • Review skin and wound trends to identify opportunities for education, prevention, and quality improvement.

  • Provide education and guidance to team members on skin integrity, wound prevention, infection prevention related to wounds, and proper documentation.

  • Collaborate with nursing, medical, environmental services, and other interdisciplinary teams to promote a strong culture of infection prevention and resident safety.

  • Communicate infection control and skin integrity information effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, staff, and regulatory agencies as appropriate.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary meetings, and committees.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local infection control regulations and applicable standards related to resident care and skin integrity.

  • Assist with regulatory surveys and inspections, address identified deficiencies, and implement corrective action plans.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred/Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

  • 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in infection prevention, infection control, wound care/skin integrity, long-term care, or a related area.

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.

  • Experience with wound prevention, skin assessments, and pressure injury prevention preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and engage team members at all levels.

  • Comfortable using computer applications for data collection, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
