Hospital Care Coordinator – Patient & Family Experience Services
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)
Location: New Castle, PA 16101 (On-site – Critical Care / ICU Department setting)
Schedule: Daylight & Rotating Shift Options (Full-time schedule supporting 24/7-unit operations)
New Hire Starting Base Pay: $18.19 – $20.43 per hour (Starting pay based on experience and career ladder placement, with clear advancement pathways.)
Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $27.58 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED, active High School/GED program enrollment, OR 1 year of previous job experience required.
- Customer Service Orientation: Strong desire and compassion to create an exceptional patient and family experience in an intensive care environment. (Prior healthcare, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.)
- Instruction & Task Capabilities: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions, manage multiple unit priorities, and execute physical tasks (lifting, cleaning, patient transport).
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to greet visitors warmly, answer unit phone lines, and interact compassionately with patients and clinical care teams.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Patient & Visitor Experience: Warmly greet arriving families, provide escort assistance, manage parking validation/passes, set up patient belonging tracking, and maintain family lounge comfort.
- Telehealth & Unit Equipment Support: Retrieve, set up, and clean telehealth carts for physician appointments; order, organize, and restock medical supplies, PPE, and clinical trays across the unit.
- Multi-Departmental Unit Operations: Assist with light environmental cleaning/linen changes in discharge rooms, assemble and deliver patient meal trays according to diet orders, and safely transport patients or lab specimens.
- Clinical Unit Collaboration: Answer unit phone lines, respond to call lights under clinical direction, perform hourly rounding, assist with patient mobility prompts, and print daily care plans for nursing staff.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to infection control, hand hygiene, HIPAA confidentiality guidelines, and mandatory reporting protocols.
