Location: The Woodlands, TX

Starting Pay Rate: $63.00 Hourly + (Based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (including weekends)

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a detail-oriented and clinically focused Pharmacist to join a leading healthcare system in The Woodlands, TX. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist who is passionate about patient safety, medication accuracy, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across a broad patient population (pediatric through adult). You will play a key role in optimizing medication therapy, preventing drug-related issues, and ensuring safe and effective medication use throughout the care continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety based on diagnosis, lab values, weight/BSA, allergies, and drug interactions
  • Ensure accurate entry, processing, and dispensing of medication orders in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor for and prevent medication errors, adverse drug events, and drug-related problems
  • Prepare and oversee sterile product compounding using strict aseptic technique and infection control standards
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including annual competency and aseptic technique validation
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support including medication therapy management and interdisciplinary consultation
  • Conduct patient and caregiver education, including discharge counseling to ensure understanding of medication therapies
  • Support investigational drug handling and maintain required documentation per departmental policy
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts
  • Serve as a role model for pharmacy technicians and peers, promoting best practices and professional standards
  • Maintain timely communication via email, voicemail, and internal systems throughout each shift
  • Support smooth pharmacy operations and ensure efficient workflow across all medication management processes
  • Participate in study initiation, maintenance, and closure activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
  • Active Texas Pharmacist License (RPH) required
  • Unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of Texas
  • Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and medication safety principles
  • Experience in hospital or acute care pharmacy practice preferred
  • Proficiency in sterile compounding and aseptic technique required
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
